THEO PARRISH :: SOUND SIGNATURE

Nothing beats Theo Parrish tracks on a cold, murky, rainy San Francisco afternoon. I can appreciate the Electronic, Techno sounds from Detroit. Theo Parrish is a master at combining the most ugliest of sounds to something so beautiful.

I feel a Deep House, Down-Tempo mix is over due. Coming soon.

Enjoy this Theo Parrish track, Nov, 2010.

THE LINKWOOD FAMILY

Once again the Linkwood Family get down and dirty. Their new album “System” is an album forged from experience. Unlike the last album, this one is a true cross-over ranging from 80’s funk influenced music to techno-ish and deep house sounding tunes. Great Electronic Album from talented group of guys. If you liked my" Body Talk Mix " you should recognize this track.

Now this is Deep! One for the House Heads.

OMAR S :: DETROIT SOUL

Omar S A name that comes up quite often around Detroit heads, is a name you should get familiar with. Omar S has a unique style which he calls "psychedelic soul-funk tech-house dubs of the future" and gets plays from Similar producers from Theo Parrish to Kenny Dixon Jr. This particular track just did it for me. The vocals.... that deep warm feeling over simple Rhodes (Keys) screams emotion. Could this be about a loved one? Sometimes the most simple tracks are so hard to create. Experiences in our daily life can create such beautiful pain resulting in great music.

Check this article on Omar S from XLR8R Magazine (2004) which digs deeper into the mysterious man from Detroit.

This is one of my favorite tracks and If you like my taste in music you already know what your in for.

FLOATING POINTS

I LOVE ME SOME DEEP HOUSE!!!. Call it what you want - Floating Points brings that smoothed out Synth funk on this nice Futuristic Stepper. Leaning more to the HOUSE SOUNDS its definitely worth picking up for that late night DEEP crowd. If you like Kenny Dixon jr./Moody Mann, Theo Parish you will appreciate this. nice work from peeps over Eglo Records

After sharing his various re-edits online (which were played by the likes of Benji B, Gilles Peterson and Domu), his retake of Real 2 Reels 'Love Me Like This' is now signed to EgLO/ R2 Records and was released on a limited 7" in February '09.

KERRI CHANDLER

one of Deep House Music's originators, has been injecting soul into house music since the early nineties. An ambassador of the natural and instinctive 4/4 beat, Kerri's influences can be traced back to New Jersey growing up in a family of jazz musicians. His father being a respected deejay, provided Kerri with a rich background in the origins of soul, disco and the New York Underground Sound. Accompanying his father to the gigs, Kerri began playing records at the Rally Racquet Club in East Orange, New Jersey at the tender age of thirteen. Exposed to such musical creativity, it wasn't long before Kerri found himself interested in production.

EIGHT BALL RECORDS - THE RISE AND FALL

DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT MY OLD SCHOOL DEEP HOUSE HEADS...

Eightball Records was a vinyl store started in the early 90's. Soon it launched the label that quickly generated alot of buzz around their releases from the likes of Joi Cardwell & Mood II Swing, pioneering the classic New York garage sound.
Around the end of the 90's it started to release more darker tribal house sound during the Tenaglia/Vasquez era that was going on and lost most of its profile as it was known for. Releases got more far in between and in 2003 the shop closed for good and took the label (and their sub-divisions) with them in the fall.
