LEON WARE

Sorry for delaying on the blog people. I've been really busy working on new projects, plus my Happy Hour "Haight & Soul" Fridays has been taking some of my spare time. I've noticed a large amount of traffic already this year, and I thank all of you who continue to read this blog. THANK YOU!!!!!

If we've recently met this track goes out to you. Sorry I'm bad with names.

This situation calls for some "Leon Ware" and the title says it all

CREME D'COCOA :: SMOOTH SOUL

Forget the “funk” in this album — because the best bits are the mellow ones! Crème D’Cocoa are one of those groups pushing slick bass-heavy funk when they should stick to the mellower cuts — which they do nicely on this album, in a smooth male/female harmony style that has a bit of a quiet storm feel to it. The funkier cuts are really just uptempo club numbers, not really that strong, but pleasant enough in kind of a shouting catchy chorus sort of way. Titles include “Baby, Don’t You Know”, “Leading Lady”, “Mr Me, Mrs You”, “Sweet Dream Lady”, “I Don’t Wanna Be Lonely”, and “Do What You Feel”.

RUSSELL TAYLOR

Bringing the Mature R&B game back Russell Taylor is taking the underground club scene by storm with his latest album "Confessional" This is deffinetly a mainstream R&B album that a true R&B digger can appreciate. The beats are driven by that boom bap slap, and there's plenty modern Synths that would make an Asian kid go crazy. Believe when I say you'll be hearing about Russell Taylor in the near future

JOHNNY GUITAR WATSON

By 1976, Johnny released 'Ain't That A Bitch' on DJM Records, an album that was to change his recording career.

The dancer, 'I Need It', became an enormous Pop and R & B hit both sides of the Atlantic and paved the way for further successful album offerings.

Johnny produced, played bass, keyboards and drums on the album and a further six albums appeared on the DJM imprint.

In 1981, he relocated to A & M Records, although the resulting releases were not critically acclaimed.

Johnny released 'Strike On Computers' at the end of the 80's and had an appearance at London's Town & Country Club in 1987.

In the 90's his music was sampled by Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr Dre, and the album 'Bow Wow' made the U.S. charts (an association with Toni Tony Tone).

Johnny 'Guitar' Watson died of a heart attack whilst performing at the Yokohama Blues Cafe in Japan on the 17th May 1996.
