SAVAGE SOUL

Vigon-Baby-Gone!!

You won't see this on 'Aretha's Soul Rewind'

Vigon - Baby Your Time Is My Time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBX4a9F88JA

Probably the tightest soul/go-go/popcorn video I've ever laid eyes on..this is how its done, the lighting, the outfits, those boots (!) and a walk off into the studio (sun) set. All over a great song that's loop after loop of sick breaks. Dynamite SOUL!

Vigon - Harlem Shuffle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI6_es6Lkow

this rendition of Harlem Shuffle is sick. Non stop go-go energy and driving beats from this Moroccan French Soul Singer Vigon. Nobody does it like this these days!

PARTY ROCKING DETROIT STYLE MIX TAPE FROM 87

BIG UP DJ DESTROYER WHO TURNED ME ON TO THIS... JEFF MILLS IS SOUNDING REAL NICE IN THE LATE 80s COMPARED TO NOW!!! STRAIGHT PARTY ROCKING FROM ORIGINAL ELECTRO, BREAKS, FUNKY TECHNO, HIP HOP, SCRATCHING ALL IN ONE, HATS OFF TO YOU SIR

The Wizard was Techno legend Jeff Mill's DJ Moniker in the 80's and His weekend sets from that era on Detroit radio station WJLB are pretty legendary. I've been lucky enough to get my hands on one mix from '85 which is pretty ill, but this mix from '87 that someone posted on youtube is the bizness! No mp3's or tape edit machines here..just 4 technic turntables, some wax and nimble fingers. NAZZTEE!!!

No Idea's Original

got to meet one of New York's best dj's a few times in the summer. One time in NY & one time in L.A. . . . very humble & hardworking cat behind the decks. With this mix (which he plays all the samples from 2009 music), he reminds us all that no matter how OG or underground or 'super-producer' you (think you) are . . . 'No Idea's Original'.
