TIGER & WOODS

Now that every one is a Disco/Funk expert, the flood of new music and people sampling 80s funk records makes me sad, we don't need intro's and edits that suck! In a sea of horrible production I can honestly say there are a few groups who can do the sound right.

Tiger & Woods is a duo out of KY who are under the radar at the moment, but we expect to hear more from these cats real soon as they're making big noise in the underground music scene. Right now you can pick up the latest release "Caddy Shag EP" Vinyl or Digital where good music is sold.

DANNY KRIVIT & STRUT RECORDS

The second volume of Danny Krivit's Edits By Mr. K series sees the master editor, DJ, and record collector dipping into his extensive crates to put his magic touch on personal favorites and floor fillers from the golden age of disco and soul. On "(Do The) Spanish Hustle," Fatback Band's breakout hit from 1976, Krivit leads with the break, slowly building momentum until catharsis comes nearly four minutes into the track. It's a driving, uptempo track which highlights the beginning of funk's evolution into disco, and a terrific slice of dance floor gold. Edits By Mr. K Volume 2: Music Of The Earth comes out September 14th on Strut.

WHERE EVER GOOD MUSIC IS SOLD

You may have heard it make the digital rounds, but if you’ve heard a mash-up combining The Marveletes‘ “In The Sea” with De La Soul’s “Oooh.”, that was created by DJ B.Cause. The song will finally be released on vinyl overseas with the help of the mysterious underground label known as BSTRD BOOTS. The record will be a split 7″ with Sneaky Fox.

The 45 is here soon can be ordered through Piccadilly Records. This may not be available in the states anytime soon so if you want one, buy in triplicate.

DJ B.Cause is also a fellow Strutter who does not hate the Sayer. His mixes can be found all over the place, check out his Diamonds In The Dust blog and go from there.
