STEVE WALLACE

Great album from 2009 Steve Wallace is picking up where Dwele fell off. Steve Wallace has been around for ages, and I think he's about to make even bigger noise in the next few years. This is some Hood soul, and the boy that came from the streets is telling you about where he's from...

Oh and I added one track that that was flipped real nice. Sampling "Camplo's - Luchin" Steve pulls this one off with a modern twist, great tune for your early club set.

MR. SCRUFF THIS FRIDAY AT MIGHTY ( SF ) DJ SET

MR. SCRUFF
Mighty: 119 Utah Street
10:00pm - 4:00am

Don't miss an exclusive Dj set with one of the most unique and eclectic producer/djs on planet Earth, the legendary Mr Scruff. Scruff will begin his set promptly at 10pm and will play all night, probably from 4-6 hours straight in a marathon of genre bending joy. In his last performance at Mighty, Scruff dropped dub, hip hop, acid jazz, drum and bass and of course his own peculiar brand of musical breakbeat. There is simply noone that quite compares to Mr Scruff for his impeccably uncompromising taste and his exceptional ability to mix the rarest vinyl flawlessly. Mr. Scruff's DJ name was inspired by his spotty facial hair, and his trademark loose-lined drawing style. He has been DJing since 1994, and is known for in marathon sets (often exceeding six hours), his eclectic musical taste, his love of a "nice cup of tea" and the quirky home-produced visuals and animations that are projected on large screens during his gigs.

Sunset is also holding an all-45's summit on the other soundsystem featuring local legends DJ ZEPH, DJ CENTIPEDE, MOTION POTION and more...

Q-TIP ON SLUM V & DILLA

DJ Premier, Questlove, and now Q-Tip to share some great stories about thier personal history and inside scoop on classic hip-hop moments. he talks about: how Busta almost became a part of Tribe, meeting Phife, battling Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and working with the Native Tongues. The video above is a classic clip of Q-Tip’s impression of D’angelo, an outburst from Questlove, and his first encounters with Dilla. Thanks,
