Picked this 7" up'Make It Sweet' with Coke Escovedo on Timbales. This is an early demo version of the song which appeared on Coke's debut self-titled album. The tune has a dynamic brass-driven energy and 70s Soulfulness. On the flip 'We All Have Our Own Lives' has a soulful spiritual-jazz flavor reminiscent of Strata-East records. This dark and moody recording was also from the same Coke Escovedo session, but never made it onto his self-titled Mercury album.
If you're feeling this record go out and pick it up. Sorry you have to dig for it your self...
