Big up the "Southern Soul Spinners" making their way to the city of wind. If you happen to be in Chicago I highly recommend you check these guys out. They have amazing records and blow my mind every time.

SOUTHERN SOUL SPINNERS
The Southern Soul Spinners will be repping the Barrio Sounds of Latin & Lowrider Soul. Championing Sweet Soul, Doo-wop, and funk, These cats carry a torch for soul music in a way that is Just as unique as the car culture behind the sounds. For decades Mexican-americans have been fascinated with afro centric rhythms, the tragic ballads and mid tempo Soul have been championed by those in the lowrider community for decades.

Pre-game on with Southern Soul Spinner, Author & Music Historian Ruben Molina. He'll be presenting a lecture titled "Chicano Soul After the Death of Ritchie Valens" at the National Museum of Mexican Art (1952 W. 19th St; FREE), followed by a listening party and book signing starting at 6:30pm. Then head up to the Double Door at 9pm where the party kicks in to overdrive.
