K-MAXX :: SUPER DRUNK

Hey boogie/modern funk fans, this is a HUGE supporter of the Sweater Funk movement in the Bay Area, K-MAXX, producer and host of the radio show Ghetto Gumbo on KPOO, every Friday 10 PM til 2 AM. This is his self produced album from 2009. Check out SUPA DRUNK for the boogie vibes. Been playin' a burn of this for days!

K-Maxx, aka Ken Hopkins, lives for the music. He's a Bay Area original from San Francisco, who's been involved with artists ranging from Dan the Automator, to R&B Legend/Icon Lenny Williams (Tower of Power), Too $hort, to King Tech (Wake Up Show) and many more.

Releasing two acclaimed underground albums during the Bay's initial reign in the 90's, K-Maxx began the early 2000's with his seminal "Ghetto Gumbo" radio show which can be heard Friday Nights on KPOO FM 89.5 (KPOO.COM) in San Francisco.

He returned to the music forefront in 2006, producing for artists like 05' B.A.R.S Underground Artist of the Year, Andre Nickatina and co-writing and producing the hit single "Tuesday" for R&B Legend Lenny Williams, which was recently in the Top 30 Urban AC nationwide.

A multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, keyboards, bass) using many methods to create his soundscapes, K-Maxx draws from a diverse array of influences and experiences to create a truly original sound. You can hear his experience as a top producer in the impeccable quality and depth of the production; his experience as a renowned radio host in the guests he’s brought on board; and his years paying his dues as a artist/musician in the depth and consciousness of the rhymes
