Finally had a chance to check out Quincy Jones latest album Soul Bossa Nostra. The name may be deceiving and for myself I'm not that impressed. I can see the musical direction in which Quincy Jones was heading, not to mention the all star cast.
After a few listen One track stood out. "Betch Wouldnt hurt me" feat, Mary J, Q-Tip, Alfredo Rodriquez. This one right here stood out among a see of POP infiltrated type songs... Heavy Modern 80s soul vibe, which I'm all about.
Patti Austin did the original track back in 1980 "The Dude" written by Stevie Wonder sung by Grammy Winner of 2008 Best Jazz Vocal Patti Austin. She is doing all the background vocals on three of her four tracks from The Dude album.
