THE CRUSADERS

A true Philly Soul classic when it comes to Crusaders Music.

Formed in Houston, Texas in 1956, settling on the name The Jazz Crusaders in 1961 (shortened to The Crusaders ten years later). Their best-known hit "Street Life" was responsible for bringing guest vocalist Randy Crawford to the public attention - the group's line-up at that time comprised founder members Wilton Felder (tenor sax, bass), Nesbert "Stix" Hooper (percussion) and Joseph Sample (keyboards) with Larry Carlton (guitar).
