I really know how it feels to be 'Stressed Out'

"Look @ "MC Generic" with his Shades and His Chain"

So I recently was slated to DJ a semi-exclusive venue for the entire night (which i love to do, so I can set the vibe from jump to finish) & right before the gig I was told I was going to be bumped off the decks @ 1130. So I lay a nice foundation from 10-11:15 r&b, soul, 90's, Early 2000's Hip-Hop, Select 80's joints & Singalong tracks but nothing considered a "Banger". Then come's "DJ Generic" with his shades and his chain coming in with only his computer, serato records, needles, headphones & his power charger. So this cat doesn't bring a serato box nor records or even a cd to change up. What happened to actually coming prepared to a gig ? Prepared for any situation ? Seems like shit is more about an image or the $$ you can make rather than actually liking to DJ. On behalf of myself & Hear The Sounds when you see us DJ for 5 people all the way to 5,000 we are putting in 100% effort and coming prepared regardless of what we are wearing we'll still rock it. I started doing this for free & for fun & will be doing it til the last sucker dj sells his tech's. "Even when the needles skips, I still rip"

MAJOR PROPS!!!

I knew it wasnt just me that got pissed off with this shit.

Thats why my blog is called www.tru-spinna.blogspot.com

I usually take HOURS to sort out vinyl for a gig...tho cant remember the last time I did that, not been playing much recently, mainly due to the fact theres no-where that wants to hear the "good shit" because round my way its only "kids" that go out & they dont know any decent music, just the usually MTV shit!

Anyway,

Peace
