Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and--if he has his way--every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control.




It's enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop...except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart. "The Gangster Squad" is a colorful retelling of events surrounding the LAPD's efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.

DJ SHADOW AND BOTTLE SERVICE :: DOES NOT SOUND RIGHT TO TIME

Miami’s Mansion nightclub are at it again kicking DJ Shadow off the decks on his Miami leg of his ‘All Bases Covered’ tour.

Turns out DJ Shadow’s music is ‘too future’ for the club that is never that far from controversy after kicking Dennis Ferrer off his set earlier this year.

Video footage from a fan captures the moment a club promoter tells DJ Shadow to leave the decks leaving a raucous pissed off crowd in his foot path.






As a ticketed and promoted event headlined by DJ Shadow its just hard to understand why they bothered booking him in the first place.

The on-going debate surrounding ‘table service’ calling the shots continues to rage. Watch DJ Shadow get kicked off the DJ decks

NORTEC COLLECTIVE :: TIJUANA'S KRAFTWERK

If you happen to be a frequent reader you probably scene my post on Nortec Collective. To me. They're O=one of the most inspiring Art collective pushing Sights and Sounds who hail from Tijuana Mexico.

When I was a hood living in San Diego I would head across the border and frequently visit TJ. I was not into the the Club madness (revolution street) that everyone associates Mexico with. Instead I used to go paint (graffiti) and frequent the under ground parties (I even played a few) and was shown a side of Mexico that people really never knew existed. But no matter where I went, party I attended, Nortec Collective was represented. From street art to music.
